I have no voice but I do have a story. A story about what it’s like having depression and working harder to mask it than to cope with it. I can spell out everything I could have done to take care of my mental health in a better way and not feel ashamed about it.
If you are struggling, please know you are so important. A favorite quote of mine says, ‘We are not on this earth to see through one another, but to see one another through.’ That’s the best advice I can give, you are not alone in this war and there are people that want to help you defeat it.
If there was something I learned from my experiences with my disorders, it is this: Life is something to be cherished, and no matter how deep one puts himself or herself in, there is always a kernel of hope that lies somewhere, just waiting to be discovered.
